StapLearn ("we," "our," or "us") values the privacy and safety of all users, especially students. We are committed to protecting personal information shared by schools, parents, and students, and to complying with applicable federal and state privacy laws including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
StapLearn is a school-connected educational platform where students create and share educational resources with oversight from parents and schools. StapLearn does not facilitate any commercial transactions or monetization of student content.
COPPA applies to the online collection of personal information from children under 13. StapLearn complies with COPPA by ensuring that students under 13 do not directly create accounts or interact with the platform independently. All access for K–8 students is mediated through a parent or guardian, and no personal information is collected directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
FERPA protects the privacy of student education records. StapLearn operates as a school-connected platform and treats any student-related information shared by schools with strict confidentiality. We do not disclose student education records to third parties without appropriate consent from parents, eligible students, or schools, except as permitted by law. Schools that use StapLearn retain control over their students' educational records and may request access, correction, or deletion at any time.
K–8 students do not create accounts or interact with StapLearn directly. All platform activity for this age group is managed by a parent or guardian.

All student-created content is reviewed by StapLearn or authorized school contacts before being published to any resource hub. We do not publish personally identifiable information as part of student resources. Schools retain the right to request removal of any content associated with their students at any time.

Personal information is retained only as long as necessary to operate the platform and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. When a school or parent requests deletion, or when a student's account is closed, we will delete associated personal data in a timely manner, except where retention is required by law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage parents, schools, and students to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
